**Town restoration note.** This is where the record and the structure parted company. In the original Gallery the turnings continued past the drawings — each one authored by the last, resembling it closely enough to be reassuring, leading nowhere by ever-finer degrees. Travelers were not killed; they were *translated*, their momentum becoming fuel for the next turning. Chapter 5 tells that day hour by hour.
The rebuilt Loop ends here, in an open door, because the town that rebuilt it lives by the Code of Open Doors: the same geometry, surfaced. You walked a three-level recursion and it told you the truth at every level. That is the entire difference between a gallery and a mouth.
